| To dandia Dhamaka 2009! |
On January 31st, 2009, the University of Michigan Raas Association (UMRA) will be proudly presenting the eight annual intercollegiate Raas competition Dandia Dhamaka, at the historic Michigan Theater in Ann Arbor, MI. As a nationwide competition, Dandia Dhamaka promotes culture and brings students together from across the United States. Through this event, we hope to continue promoting the beauty of India's culture throughout the University and the surrounding communities. In recent years, intercollegiate dance competitions have been gaining popularity. They attract students and faculty, as well as many members of the local and state communities. Our show will bring together 10 teams from various universities across the country, with an audience of approximately 2,000 people.
